COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Mrs. McCarthy is great submitted by yufamily on August 15, 2019, 2:39pm A good team of lovable characters
Season 2 submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 15, 2019, 4:27pm Season 2 continues the adventures of Father Brown, a Catholic priest living in 1950s England. Brown (played by Mark Williams, whom viewers will recognize as Arthur Weasley in the "Harry Potter" films) bumbles through life while solving murders in his small village (which has a shockingly high crime rate, if one thinks of how many murders Brown solves despite the town's low number of residents). While the show is entertaining, especially looking at the period costumes, it does a terrible job of portraying the realities of 1950s England. Almost everyone Brown meets is Catholic and those who are not are rarely prejudiced against Catholics; this was not, in fact, true of mid-20th century Britain. People are also shockingly tolerant of the shockingly flamboyant single woman, which would have been highly unlikely in reality.
