Sweet, Funny Teen Romance submitted by sdunav on June 12, 2015, 1:29pm Fun YA romance that I couldn't put down - don't know how this woman was able to channel a gay male high school student so well, but she did. Sweet without being cloying, with refreshingly interesting and featuring not-so-dysfunctional parents, siblings, teachers, and friends. Even the bullies are complicated.

Great YA Contemporary Romance submitted by zixyxuan on June 19, 2017, 12:00pm Usually, I have a huge problem with YA contemporary because I don't think it's very realistic. Being a teenage psychologist, Becky Albertalli was able to portray all of her characters perfectly. I would recommend this to anyone looking for a quick romantic read.

great submitted by durableglass on July 6, 2018, 11:05am this book is great. I've read it twice and seen the movie 4 times its pretty damn good

Deserves the slew of awards it has won submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 22, 2019, 3:31pm This was an excellent YA book that absolutely deserves the slew of awards it has won. A funny and touching story of a closeted high school junior in small town Georgia who meets another gay boy online and develops a friendship, then romance, Simon is also dealing with blackmail from a classmate who wants to meet a female friend of his. Balancing school, theater, friendship, blackmail, and a growing need to take control of his own destiny, Simon has choices to make and consequences to face. This is one of those outstanding books that invites readers to consider a life not their own, while feeling perfectly relatable at the same time. It also asks timely questions about internet safety, peer pressure, parent-child relationships, friendships, and what happens when someone else makes choices for you. But overarching all that, it was just a great story. Highly recommended.

Amazing submitted by c_zhang on June 28, 2019, 12:40am It's really sweet, and I like the diversity within this book. Well written and very genuine.

Amazing submitted by RowPio on July 12, 2019, 3:41pm This book is so awesome I don't even have words. Simon is literally the most relatable character and I wish there was more! Bimon is amazing!!

THE BEST submitted by zora on July 28, 2019, 4:55pm This book is absolutely one of my favorite romances. It is something that I feel so many young teens should read. It shows so much about dealing with an issue that is brought to light before you are ready I think that this is something that even more people of all different ages should be reading.
