Family patriarch Walter Langdon has died, and his children have fanned out across the country. The narrative moves year by year from 1953 to 1986, encompassing Cold War blinkeredness, Sixties rebellion, and escalating wealth into the Eighties.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Good, but lacks cohesion submitted by eapearce on May 26, 2015, 7:00pm I really enjoyed Some Luck, and Early Warning is of course, written in the same style as its prequel. However, midway through the book it did really start to get difficult to remember who was who, with four generations of characters present in the story. In Some Luck, I enjoyed the brief vignettes of different characters rather than intense character development, but the sheer number of people made any sort of connection with them nearly impossible in this installment. I'm still looking forward to reading the final book in the trilogy, but Early Warning did make me a little less enthused for it than I was after Some Luck.
