funny TV submitted by manz on June 18, 2015, 11:41am Funny show! These girls are such crazy fun. Much better than Sex and the City. And MILES better than Girls. I am sick of Lena Dunham. So this BROAD CITY is refreshing and HILARIOUS.

Real Funny Broads submitted by Fevvers - STAR473 on July 11, 2015, 12:15am Abbi and Ilana - zingers to slapstick, sweet friendship to blunt explicit talk (sometimes simultaneously). The first few episodes establish the characters: relatively more conservative Abbi with her artistic goals and money shortage looking for a stable job and dealing with a gross rommate situation; wild child Ilana veering between solid self-esteem and overconfidence that trips her up, open about her active sex life, running roughshod over her boss and napping through her work day, and constantly indulging in an illegal substance.

It's a really funny show that gets funnier the more you watch it because then you have more to contrast and compare, more context. I found season 1 funnier on rewatches as well.

Huge Fan submitted by wellscai on August 4, 2018, 10:39am I am such a huge Broad City fan, and rewatching Season 1 reminded me why. Abbi and Ilana are weird, hilarious, and relatable, and this season perfectly sets up their characters for the fun that's to come.

An Aquired Taste submitted by Meginator on June 25, 2020, 4:18pm This show’s sense of humor is an acquired taste, but it rewards patience; that said, if you aren’t into it by the first two or three episodes, it’s not going to be for you. I decided to keep going after a few episodes, as I found the show to be a nice, funny distraction when I’m looking for a quick diversion that isn’t too heavy. Each episode has its own self-contained (and often high concept) plot arc centered around Abbi and Ilona’s misadventures in New York City, and though certain jokes and storylines do develop over the course of the season each episode can be watched as a standalone. The main characters are well-developed and quirky, but largely immature, and form the heart of the endeavor; again, if you don’t warm quickly to Abbi and Ilona, this show isn’t going to work for you. The show’s distinct raunchy sense of humor and its focus on imperfect female characters give it a unique appeal in today’s television landscape, and it can be a lot of fun for the right viewer.
