Begins very simply, progresses to more complexity submitted by FordAlpha on August 20, 2018, 9:46pm My early reader doesn't care for non-fiction in general, but she was attracted to the multicolored birds on the cover. It took some persuasion to get her to actually read the book. The text begins very simply, showing single colors with a variety of animal examples, then moving on to multicolored and patterned animals and finally to concepts of animal camouflage. It's really pretty well constructed, with factual content at an appropriate level of understanding, and the photographs are well chosen. It offers good reading practice, and young readers who are more interested in non-fiction will probably enjoy it.

a good book submitted by kevinhe on July 18, 2019, 10:31am l like to see the different color and pattern of these animals, especially the bird on the cover.
