A different perspective on WWII submitted by chloecal on December 7, 2014, 11:10am This is a German mini-series. There are three 1-1/2 hour episodes in German with English subtitles. I was dubious when I started watching but was quickly drawn into their story. The production value is high, acting is very good and if you are ok with subtitles, I highly encourage you to check this out.

Rather than focusing on generals and politicians, though, "Generation War" follows five young people - friends - who are swept up in the frenzy of total war. While the paths their lives take vary, none of them are spared the horrors endured by so many of their fellow citizens. If you want to understand conflict's impact on ordinary folk, you'd do well to view "Generation War."
