Early rock music used tape-based delays to produce everything from fast slapback echoes to wild, multiple delays produced by units such as Roland’s Space Echo. Later, in the 1970s, analog units were introduced guitar-pedals-delaythat could produce delays as long as two seconds or more, though the delay signals would lose some high frequencies. The 1980s saw the introduction of the modern digital delay, which could produce a wide range of time-based effects such as chorus, flange, and traditional echo.

From the awesome folks at Sweetwater: Guitar Pedal Buying Guide

TECHOPHONIC Custom VERSION 2 with 700 milliseconds of LUSH echo routed around a sweet FET analog preamp to give any guitar the sweetness and depth you might expect from a $1000 echo unit.
External volume pot adjusts the ENTIRE pedal’s output for unity or even up to 10dB boost from the analog FET preamp. The Dynamic Modulation control offers up a huge range of micro-controlled dynamic pitch-shifting wobble from perfectly clean (OFF) to a watery shimmer to a maniacal vibration.

  • Up to 700 Milliseconds Analog Voiced Delay
  • DRY / WET, Time, Volume, Repeats, and Modulation Controls
