Read by Caroline Lee.
"A murder ... . . . a tragic accident... . . . or just parents behaving badly? What's indisputable is that someone is dead. But who did what? Big Little Lies follows three women, each at a crossroads: Madeline is a force to be reckoned with. She's funny and biting, passionate, she remembers everything and forgives no one. Her ex-husband and his yoga new wife have moved into her beloved beachside community, and their daughter is in the same kindergarten class as Madeline's youngest (how is this possible?). And to top it all off, Madeline's teenage daughter seems to be choosing Madeline's ex-husband over her. Celeste is the kind of beautiful woman who makes the world stop and stare. While she may seem a bit flustered at times, who wouldn't be, with those rambunctious twin boys? Now that the boys are starting school, Celeste and her husband look set to become the king and queen of the school parent body. But royalty often comes at a price, and Celeste is grappling with how much more she is willing to pay. New to town, single mom Jane is so young that another mother mistakes her for the nanny. Jane is sad beyond her years and harbors secret doubts about her son. But why? While Madeline and Celeste soon take Jane under their wing, none of them realizes how the arrival of Jane and her inscrutable little boy will affect them all" -- from publisher's web site.

Big little lies submitted by leenajong on August 3, 2016, 8:25am Great book with several subplots, can't put it down.

Wonderful mystery to read on audio submitted by mickplu on July 28, 2018, 11:33am This is a great book to read in audio format as it only makes you feel closer to the many well developed characters. It earned its 5 star rating. Dealing with the serious topic of domestic violence, Moriarty has written a mystery with a surprising amount of humor. Her characters are extremely well developed and leaves the reader guessing the murderer/murder victim right up to the moment it happens. I loved the way she interspersed each chapter with the various characters speaking to the police about past events leading up to the murder

Great book submitted by TLW1998 on July 10, 2019, 11:00pm If you can’t read it, it would be fun to listen to on cd.

Best thing in recent memory submitted by caburr47 on July 21, 2019, 10:02pm It was really nice to have it read by an Australian for extra depth. Well written, not predictable, levity to break up the drama of the murder plot. Haven’t seen the show but the actors reflect my imaginations image of the characters. Best book I’ve come across in a while.

Great storytelling submitted by crp on August 29, 2019, 1:45pm Great storytelling with several traumas built into the story

Little submitted by smr on July 2, 2020, 2:54pm Beige little lies

Big little lies submitted by Juliesharp91 on July 14, 2021, 5:50pm A interesting story about how several women’s lives intersect. The title is also reminds me of AADL functioning as a nonprofit that has also cut out programming that helps the most at risk people, and reduced its outreach department while also overspending on artwork, technology, buildings, contracted services, and the directors salary and greatly underserves the most in need people in Ann Arbor. That they have nonprofit status is a Big little lie.
