Guy Trilby is a 40-year-old who finds a loophole in the rules of The Golden Quill national spelling bee and decides to cause trouble by hijacking the competition. While reporter Jenny Widgeon attempts to discover his true motivation, Guy finds himself forging an unlikely alliance with a competitor: awkward ten-year-old Chaitanya Chopra, who is completely unfazed by Guy's take-no-prisoners approach to life.

Funny submitted by llwalsh on July 10, 2014, 7:04pm The friendship developed between Bateman's character and a contestant is hilarious. I found the ending quite predictable, but if you're looking for dark, crass humor, this is a sure bet.

I laughed out load, I winced at some of the main characters actions, and I was a bit shocked at times. I enjoyed the film, but could not imagine how they got all the talented child actors needed. I have to wonder how hard it was for their parents to sign off on their participation. Jason Bateman and the supporting cast are great.

Buddy Movie submitted by monkk on August 31, 2014, 10:50pm I had never heard of this film but when it was suggested to me, Jason Bateman being one of my favorite actors, I decided to watch it. Yes, it's a movie about kids that is not for kids, but the kid actor plays excellently against Bateman. Hope to see him in the future.
