I'm not a Blu-ray user... submitted by tbbrown76 on July 27, 2014, 6:25pm but it is really nice that one season fits on one disc. It just makes sense for 14 episodes. This is an excellent series that all sci-fi fans must see. Joss Whedon went on to bigger and better things, but this is really good.

Great scifi submitted by asopijw65 on August 13, 2014, 9:51pm Great scifi series by Joss Whedon. Highly recommend this series. It was on Fox and was cut before it's time. It's sad that there's only one season, as there are hints for what they planned for the second. The show has charming characters and an engaging story. Luckily Serenity helps to wrap up the show.

My Complicated Feelings about a Great Show submitted by timdufresne on July 10, 2018, 3:48pm I recently rewatched the series and was struck both by how compelling a scifi drama it is, how the quotable dialogue and lovable characters still struck the right chords with me and filled me with mirth and joy. Still, I couldn't shake off how some of the rust was showing on the gender dynamics and some of the politics embedded in the film (particularly its uncomfortably complicated relationship with reconstruction-era US History, based in its inspiration in Jeff Shaara's "The Killer Angels"). It added another layer to my wish that the series could have gone longer. It could have developed and evolved in interesting ways.

As it is all we are given is one wonderful season of an interesting and complicated show in an interesting and complicated world. If you're a scifi fan and haven't seen it, you should. I think you'd really like it.
