Gandhi and Jinnah, played by British men submitted by willow on August 31, 2015, 7:21am Has colonialism triumphed when the best actors to play Gandhi and Jinnah are both....from the UK?

Ben Kingsley's father was Indian, but he wore heavy brown makeup to play Gandhi.

Christopher Lee, who lacked an Indian parent, played Jinnah, and was chosen because the film producers felt he physically resembled him.

Correction submitted by charlotte mayhew on July 23, 2019, 7:03pm No, Alyque Padamsee played Jinnah in the film.
