FUN!

Such a great show. It's super funny with great writing and some really memorable and quirky characters! It's a great binge show. Do it. And season 2 as well.

great show

The only negative thing that I can say about this show is that it makes me stay up too late watching it! Lots of interesting characters keep things moving along. I'm also a big Jason Biggs fan (although his role is small...).

Totally addicted

I didn't read the memoir, nor do I have the interest to do so. For whatever reason, I love this series! Aside from a great cast, each episode focuses on the back story of a different character which keeps you interested and at the same time eager to find out more. Lots of nudity and vulgarity, but I appreciate it given the context. Great discussion on race, class and gender identity, and all of the stigmas that surround each group.

Orange Is The New Black

It's ok, but it's kind of annoying.

Orange

The first half of the show's first season closely follows the memoir of the same name by Piper Kerman, who serves as a consultant to the series. Piper gives up her yuppie life with a fiance and new business to do time for playing a small role in a drug-related crime several years ago. She thought she had left that life far behind, along with her then girlfriend Alex, a high level operative in a drug smuggling ring, but sees Alex on the first day of prison.
Despite the excessive nudity and sex, the drama does show the inmates as real people leading the viewer to feel compassion for them.

Amazing!

The most diverse show I've ever seen. Great representation for women of color. Warning though- the first couple episodes contain graphic nudity. Not for children.
