COMMUNITY REVIEWS

A great collection submitted by kencza on June 15, 2021, 9:40pm Almost anything you would ever want to hear from folk/blues legend Van Ronk is on this 3 disc collection, and it includes a booklet about his story, associates, the origins of his songs, playing in Washington Park, and his status in Greenwich Village as "the Mayor of McDougal St."
Some of my favorites are "Duncan and Brady", "Willie the Weeper", "Tell Old Bill", "Hesitation Blues", "Spike Driver Blues", "How Long", and many more. He covered songs by John Hurt, Bessie Smith, Jelly Roll Morton, Brownie McGhee, Willie Dixon and a fella that crashed on his couch for awhile after arriving in New York City Mr. Bob Dylan.
