Good submitted by hornv on June 24, 2014, 11:03pm Was a good movie, just didn't care for the bad guy.

a remake of the 1987 original submitted by SurfGrape on July 16, 2014, 8:17am This is a remake of the 1987 original. Although it's been updated, and seems more "sleek" and "futuristic," I believe something has been lost from the original. Namely, the sly humor and political satire. There is still the theme of the media driving the news, but it's heavy-handed in this version, with Samuel Jackson as an over-the-top television personality. The action sequences (of which there are many) look very much like a video game, and I felt like I was being sold a game instead of watching a movie. It's still a good movie, and the themes of rebirth (of the city as well as the man) are still present, but this one just seems a bit more flat.
