Read by Jesse Bernstein.
A horrific family tragedy sets sixteen-year-old Jacob journeying to a remote island off the coast of Wales, where he discovers the crumbling ruins of Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children. As Jacob explores its abandoned bedrooms and hallways, it becomes clear that the children were more than just peculiar. They may have been dangerous.

It's okay submitted by jcottey on June 20, 2016, 9:29pm I listened to this because the movie of the book is coming out. The person reading was fine. The story drove me nuts. When there is danger in a story, causing tension for the reader, it is nice for that danger to resolve and then have a short break before something bad happens again. Not so in this book. It had me saying stupid things aloud, like, "For Pete's sake!" because it just never stopped. Unfortunately, it's the first book in a trilogy and completely leaves the reader hanging as to what will happen. So, I have to read the next two books to find out the ending.
creative, imaginative story for teens

What an original, unique book! I'd seen it on the bestseller lists for weeks, and then I stumbled upon a copy in my neighborhood's Little Free Library. Yes, it's a book for kids - middle school and up - but it's also clever and imaginative and quite fun for adults. The incorporation of the old, very peculiar photographs is just spectacular! I loved reading the authors notes and interview, telling about how he found the photographs.
Highly recommend for all teens, and for older folks who want to be amused by something offbeat.

Great submitted by lstorc on August 28, 2018, 9:24am This proved to be a captivating bedtime story. The characters are well-developed and the narration is great!
Alright submitted by c_zhang on June 28, 2019, 3:17pm The book itself wasn't my favorite, but the narration was good, and the audiobook made it so it was easier to get through the book.
