"As a newly appointed junior manager within the Laundry--the clandestine organization responsible for protecting Britain against supernatural threats--Bob Howard is expected to show some initiative to help the agency battle the forces of darkness. But shining a light on things best left in the shadows is the last thing Bob wants to do--especially when those shadows hide an occult parasite spreading a deadly virus. Traders employed by a merchant bank in London are showing signs of infection--an array of unusual symptoms such as superstrength and -speed, an uncanny talent for mind control, an extreme allergic reaction to sunlight, and an unquenchable thirst for blood. While his department is tangled up in bureaucratic red tape (and Buffy reruns), debating how to stop the rash of vampirism, Bob digs deeper into the bank's history--only to uncover a bloodcurdling conspiracy between men and monsters.."-- Provided by publisher.

The Rhesus Chart submitted by Jen Chapin-Smith on August 15, 2019, 1:38pm This is the eighth book in Charles Stross' "Laundry Files" series of fantasy/sci-fi novels. Read the first seven books first or you will not understand what is happening in this one.
"The Rhesus Chart" continues the sad saga of British supernatural bureaucrat Bob Howard (name changed to protect his real identity). This book particularly deals with vampires, who are not quite like the ones in other books you've read or TV/movies you have watched, so put aside your pre-conceived notions in order to enjoy this book.
By the way, the series in called "Laundry Files" because "the Laundry" is the code name of the secret supernatural agency of the British government for which Bob works. The agency acquired this code name because its office used to be above a laundromat.
