The night after another unsatisfactory New Year party, Tim's father tells his son that the men in his family have always had the ability to travel through time. Tim can't change history, but he can change what happens and has happened in his own life, so he decides to make his world a better place by getting a girlfriend. But as his unusual life progresses, Tim discovers that, in the end, making the most of life may not need time travel at all.

This didn't disappoint at all and was actually even better that I expected. It's very cute and I strongly recommend it.

Charming and Clever submitted by Meginator on August 4, 2017, 10:39pm Honestly, I would have loved this film regardless of how good it is; time travel and romantic comedy are two of my favorite genres. Happily, About Time is wonderful! The time travel mechanism is relatively paradox-free, the chemistry and acting are excellent, and the message is surprisingly deep. This one's a definite keeper.

A great date movie, but we also watched with our teens: it held up as a group/family viewing...they loved it. And, it has an inventive take on time travel! Bill Nighy's character as the dad is one of our favs, and the rest of the cast may be familiar to you as well. Rachael McAdams roll is quirky and smart, Domhnall Gleeson's a refreshingly upbeat departure from his StarWars and Black Mirror rolls.

Initially it feels like a Rom-Com, but quickly becomes so much more. While a major premise of the film is the character's use of time travel, it doesn't become a crutch, nor is it overused. It is treated almost as an additional character in the story. While the overall message is about "being in the moment", the story takes its time getting there, and makes the journey compelling.
