More than true crime submitted by ark on July 11, 2014, 1:27pm I picked this up expecting a true crime thriller, but it's more than that--as the description says, it's more literary than I was expecting, and more of a memoir. Kirn is a brilliant writer who weaves together the different narrative threads and timelines masterfully, with honest, lovely, no-frills writing. A fascinating read.
Interesting submitted by karenkay on August 20, 2020, 12:04pm This is not just a story of a serial impostor. It is the story of a reporter who was befriended by the impostor. It was interesting and well written. Other versions of the story behind the impostor give more information about Christian Karl Gerhartsreiter. This focused more on the struggle of the author to understand how he was so easily misled.
