Nice Change submitted by rekha on July 16, 2014, 10:23pm My six year daughter is REALLY into fairies and princesses right now. Her current two favorite series are the Rainbow Fairies and the Rescue Princesses. She likes the Rescue Princesses because as she put it "they use skills not magic". I read two of these books to understand the appeal. And I must say its a refreshing change. It shows four princesses who rely on their own skills (albeit unusual skills) to team up and overcome evil (rescue animals).

I would recommend this series to any parent who wants to respect the princess fascination stage while trying to teach their girls about being self-reliant and independent.
