Theater Kids Unite!

Being a Theater Kid (yes, capital-T capital-K), I have very high standards for my musical theater-related literature and media. Thankfully, Tim Federle is a Theater Kid himself, and his experiences and passions have made this book all the more authentic. Nate's narrative voice sounds just like an over-zealous tween theater geek, and his insights and inner monologue through a Broadway rehearsal and performance process are funny. in this second book about Nate, he really does some growing up living away from home and his family and friend Libby, being responsible for himself, making new friends, and even turning enemies into friends. You can tell he's doing some growing up , not only because his voice starts to crack, but also because some of his remarks and thoughts start to sound more mature. However, he is never very far from a theater reference or his tradition of using the names of Broadway flops as swear words. Fantastic read for theater kids, Theater Kids (capital-T, capital-K) and those who just like watching. I hope there will be a third!
