When twelve-year-old Frederick "Red" Porter's father dies in 1972, his mother wants to sell their automobile repair shop and move her two sons back to Ohio, but Red is desperate to stop the sale even if it means unearthing some dark family secrets in a Virginia rife with racial tensions.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Mind blowing submitted by makharris on July 29, 2014, 8:54am Seeing Red is a beautifully written book. The author takes you to a WHOLE different world. It has so many different perspectives. This book is inspiring, and wonderfully worded. It had life lessons, such as racism and child abuse. Author explains what's happening in a very detailed way.
