Great Santa Origin Story submitted by Meginator on July 4, 2022, 8:55am This book tells the story of one particularly snowy night during Santa’s childhood, which ended up planting the seeds of some of Santa’s most distinguishing characteristics (including his penchant for travel by chimney and his friendship with the elves). The drawings use broad lines and a gentle color palette to good effect, with bold images bringing Santa and the North Pole to life in a cartoonish style that fits well with the story’s gentle humor. Anyone who enjoys Santa origin stories should get a kick out of this book; even though it’s not as side-splittingly hilarious as much of Agee’s other work, it’s still pretty funny and it has a great heart.
