Not so good submitted by rimpopu on July 29, 2014, 12:00pm In this book, a cat finds a spaceship toy which is actually a real space ship. It plays around with it for a while which causes damage to the ship. When the cat is seemingly taking a nap, the aliens escape the ship to find parts and a place to fix their broken space ship part. When the cat tries to pounce on them, they escape under a radiator where they make unlikely friendly with ants and lady bugs who have been fighting a long battle with the cat. You will have to find out from the book if you are interested to find out: Are the aliens able to get their jig fixed? How do they get back to their ship? There is a lot of alien and ant language communication. The story is interesting only when you don't have to read that book yourself. I suppose some wordless books are more interesting than others. Flotsam by the same author is a much better book than this one. If you are looking for something of similar quality then you will be disappointed in this book. It was tougher for me to provide narrative for my preschooler as I couldn't keep her or my interest in this book for long. I would rather check out some other wordless book on the long evenings when I find my creative urge to provide story and voices to entertain my children.

no words submitted by mtrax on August 21, 2014, 2:25pm I hadn't realized this book was wordless when my preschooler picked it out. The pictures were great, but she insists that each book is read the exact same way by both parents and we can't do that with a wordless book.

Sneaky cat submitted by EllieN-W on July 31, 2015, 3:56pm its a really funny book

So wonderful submitted by KOH on August 27, 2017, 10:50pm This is one of those wordless books and it inspires creativity in kids!

We love David Wiesner submitted by rea2mill on August 12, 2020, 10:02pm Wordless books require the audience to have learned how to interact with not just the words on the page, but also how to read the images. My guess is that the target age the publisher had in mind for this book is around 5 to 7 and up. If you haven’t started pausing on pages to point out details that add to the story in worded picture books with your kids, they might not be ready. My kid loved this book, but hidden pictures and detailed illustrations are his thing. If your kid(s) love pouring over detailed illustrations, then they will likely enjoy Mr. Wuffles. There’s a lot there, and it can be much more fun to read over and over because you find new details with different readings. If not, then you can start teaching them about visual communication by pointing out details like the expressions on characters faces and asking them, “how does that character feel?” as you read worded books together. Visual communication, just like good listening skills or the patience to read longer stories are skills we have to teach as we read to young learners.
