Some scenes of danger might be too much for very young kids but parents and the 7 and up set will enjoy it a lot.

The plot is predictable, and the "history" is completely unrealistic, but it has a good heart and is very sweet. A few moments are truly beautifully animated and written. Definitely worth watching.
