Disney's fantastical adventure Oz The Great And Powerful, from the director of the Spider-Man trilogy, follows Oscar Diggs, a small-time circus magician with dubious ethics. When Diggs is hurled away to the vibrant Land of Oz, he thinks he's hit the jackpot--until he meets three witches who aren't convinced he's the great wizard everyone's expecting. Reluctantly drawn into epic problems facing Oz and its inhabitants, Oscar must find out who is good and who is evil before it's too late. Putting his magical arts to use through illusion, ingenuity--and even some wizardry--Oscar transforms himself into the great wizard and a better man as well.
DVD, widescreen (2.40:1) presentation (beginning of features plays in 1.33:1); 5.1 Dolby digital, Region 1.

COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Skip it. submitted by manz on June 13, 2013, 7:41pm I saw this at the theater and was really underwhelmed. I'm also not a huge James Franco fan, so he ruined it even more.

Entertaining submitted by Amber Kinder on June 14, 2013, 9:50pm I liked this movie. The story line is different from the Oz we are all accustomed to. It may not have been the greatest movie ever but it was entertaining.

feeling submitted by karinnet on July 3, 2013, 8:31pm I have a feeling its going to be good.

Visually Dazzling submitted by GJBarnett2 on July 5, 2013, 12:18am And a lot more fun than I expected.

Pleasantly suprised! submitted by ssmyth on July 14, 2013, 1:11pm I wasn't expecting much when I watched this film, but found it funny and delightful. Give it a try.

good family movie submitted by LVDS on August 30, 2013, 10:27pm Fun twists on the old classic, great special effects.

cool submitted by walbridge602 on August 8, 2014, 5:42pm The flying monkey and china girl are really cool.So is the scenery.

Franco is Great submitted by toschag on August 4, 2016, 7:16pm James Franco was the best part, the plot is okay.

OK submitted by kathscot on August 20, 2017, 7:54pm OK. Does include some other aspects of L. Frank Baum's imaginative books, but I'd rather read those.

OK submitted by VanCancue on August 13, 2018, 3:56pm The movie was longer than it should've been and very slow. It was colorful and visually captivating but that seemed to be it's only attracting factor. less than ordinary plot.

Ok submitted by lstorc on August 31, 2018, 10:03pm This was primarily visually stunning. The acting was okay. The plot was sincerely lacking.

a bit different submitted by .-.-.-. on June 11, 2022, 9:15am Very different than I expected. Not really my kind of film, but worth a watch.

Pretty weak submitted by jibkidder on June 18, 2022, 1:41pm Given what was possible with this movie, I'd say this one was pretty weak. Love Kunis, hate Franco - mostly because he can't act at all. Kids enjoyed it. They enjoy almost any movie though.

Fun submitted by Abbie D. on July 10, 2022, 5:24pm I liked it!!
