Fun action adaptation submitted by beeniepie on June 21, 2014, 12:32pm This was a mildly fun adaptation of the Jack and the Beanstalk tale. Nicholas Hoult does a fair job of holding his own against heavyweights like McGregor and Tucci. There are no cheesy plot twists, and the movie is pretty much a straightforward action movie that attempts to weave a young adult romance into the plot.
