In 1998, lonely New Yorker Wally Winthrop is obsessed with what she perceives as the ultimate love story: King Edward VIII's abdication of the British throne for the woman he loved, American divorcee Wallis Simpson. Winthrop's research reveals that the couple's life together was not as perfect as she thought.

Enjoyable submitted by crazypockets on August 30, 2013, 7:24pm I didn't really know what to expect from this movie, but I wound up liking it. I think Madonna did a solid job as a director, and it's a shame this didn't get more attention. The acting was compelling, though I got a little annoyed with Abbie Cornish's consistent sad face. It gave me a different perspective on Wallace and Edward though and made me appreciate what they did in a different light.
