Solid recommendation from my 11 yo

Another solid recommendation from my 11 year old son.
This is a well done and high-intensity story about a future world where storms have intensified and tornados are incredibly powerful and frequent. The main character, a 12 year old girl named Jaden, is spending the summer in a StormSafe community her father runs, and attending a camp for the best and brightest students. But while there, she discovers some interesting things about the storms, and about what makes this community safe, and perhaps how people in power are making decisions that don't work for the good of all.
A well done book perfect for the middle school set, with some unexpected twists.

Highlight of My Summer Reading
submitted by Jooyeon on August 22, 2022, 5:38pm
I was looking for books by Kate Messner, and found this. I started reading, and was completely absorbed.
The main character, Jaden, lives in the future year of 2050, where tornadoes are constantly hitting the world, except for one place: Placid Meadows. She goes there to stay with her famous storm scientist father for the summer. While there, though, Jaden discovers dark secrets about her father’s project to stop the storms. With the help of her friends, Jaden fights through many layers to stop the storms from destroying her community.
I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes an intense story with a cleverly laid out plot.
