Loved It submitted by monkk on July 8, 2014, 8:14pm A brilliant sequel to The Shining decades later. King tells the story of grown-up Dan Torrance faced with saving a little girl who is a lot like him. I highly recommend reading this and following it with Joe Hill's (King's son) NOS4A2, they go quite well together.

Great submitted by kelleyc on July 2, 2016, 8:55am I loved The Shining, and its sequel did not disappoint. Dan Torrance is a strong, flawed, nuanced character. King's writing is paced brilliantly, and you will not want to put this book down.

Worth it submitted by Judeyblu on August 30, 2016, 11:12pm Not all sequels are worth the trouble- this one certainly is.

Updates submitted by obrien1988 on July 10, 2018, 3:22pm Loved this update to the characters.

Good editing submitted by Jhopson on July 14, 2018, 12:12am This was good. King’s stories are interesting and well-developed, as always, but he has a better editor these days ;)

Fun submitted by lstorc on August 30, 2018, 10:21pm This was such a fun revisiting of the characters. It was great to see the son more flushed out and developed.

Good submitted by TLW1998 on July 26, 2019, 9:04pm It was great to see the kid from the Shining again.

Okay submitted by manz on August 29, 2019, 9:15am I was excited to read this before the movie comes out in a few months. Now that I’ve read it I feel weird knowing what happened to Danny. I know King really wanted to write this, to get it out of his head. But did we as constant readers need it? Probably not. I give it 3/5 Stars. I got a little tired of the Hat lady, but it was still a decent read.
