good submitted by michael007 on July 1, 2013, 2:57pm good book!

Great light reading submitted by Sara W on August 21, 2014, 8:20pm Devoured this light and easy read - the characters and plot are fine, but the setting and trappings of extreme luxury steal the show. A great escapist read.

Summer pool reading submitted by sarai koster-mockeridge on June 14, 2015, 7:27am This book does not require much in the way of concentration, but it's a fun escapist read. Good for keeping one eye on the kids at the pool, which does require concentration, and one eye on the page. Fun and lighthearted.

Easy and Entertaining submitted by kittenkat101 on July 5, 2018, 2:46pm This is an easy/light read about the lives of some very affluent people. Highly entertaining!

Perfect Summer/Vacation Ready submitted by kjweinberg on July 9, 2018, 10:26pm I couldn't put this book down...so entertaining!

Lots of fun submitted by Jinxyluis on July 21, 2018, 12:13pm Come for the family drama and stay for the constant mouth watering food descriptions

Fun read! submitted by adimarzo on July 21, 2018, 5:50pm This is a fun and fast-paced read - a bit of Pride and Prejudice-style social satire, a look at how the rich live in Singapore and a love story. What's not to love?

Great read submitted by timdufresne on August 7, 2018, 8:25pm Love this book! Fun read and great characters!

Yes submitted by Rocko on August 19, 2018, 10:59pm This gud

Whoa submitted by LB on August 21, 2018, 11:09pm 247 requests. Neeeeed more copies pls.

Couldn’t put it down submitted by hillhea on November 18, 2018, 3:16pm I really prefer to read non-fiction but this was a really fun story to read. I have the next one on hold and can hardly wait.

Great submitted by wavybugs on June 23, 2019, 10:08am Excellent book. It really picks up after getting to know the characters a bit more.

Great Book submitted by patpatel3025 on June 29, 2019, 11:28pm Great read. I couldn't put it down. I liked the plot twist that was different from the movie too.

A fun read! submitted by Santon80 on July 16, 2019, 4:58pm But you can stop here. The next 2 in the series aren't as good.

Engrossing submitted by Susan4Pax -prev. sueij- on June 17, 2020, 9:18pm Excellent novel with an abundance of characters but enough context around each to help the reader keep them straight. Intertwined stories drew an engrossing picture of the world of the super rich in Singapore. I happened to watch the movie immediately after and enjoyed that, too, though (as is almost always true) I liked the book even better.

Great summer read submitted by kombucha2006 on July 18, 2020, 8:03am A great story perfect for laying in a hammock with iced tea

glad i waited submitted by boncheng on July 20, 2020, 8:19pm i really wanted to watch the movie when it first came out, but i always try to read the book before watching the movie adaptation. though i haven't watched the movie yet, i'm glad that i got to enjoy the thrill of the book first. it was an engaging read throughout. the only aspect i was disappointed by was that there wasn't much of the story told from the POV of the protagonist, the asian american woman, aside from her perspectives of the crazy rich singaporean lifestyle. as an asian american woman, i'm always searching for more narratives told from the POV of asian americans, and this wasn't quite what i was looking for

funny and easy to read submitted by crp on August 6, 2020, 3:42pm funny and easy to read

Entertaining albeit frivolous submitted by izzy42 on August 10, 2020, 4:04pm It's fun to read about rich people behaving badly. Just don't get political about it because then the waste and foolishness are upsetting. If you can stay lighthearted then this is a compelling beach read.

Enjoyable Read submitted by hjafuller on August 13, 2020, 8:35pm This was a quick, light-hearted read. I enjoyed it more than I expected.

Funny and Grabs your Attention submitted by tess_ on June 11, 2021, 4:31pm A great book with lots of details and well-developed characters. The plot was interesting and funny, great for young adults and adults.

Amazing submitted by kjshaffer on July 10, 2021, 11:48am I loved this book, especially the authors writing style, since they have such a good sense of humor, and add lots of detail to everything.

Read this after watching the movie submitted by mmohal on July 17, 2021, 8:12am I loved reading this book. I had already seen the movie but I was pleasantly surprised that I enjoyed the read even more. The author likes to inject little bits of trivia and language translations for those not familiar as familiar with the culture of the setting.

Perfect summer read! submitted by wendylv on June 13, 2022, 9:16pm This one is my favorite of the trilogy. Dialogue is fast and witty, characters are superfun, and the plot races along enjoyably. I think the movie made some good changes but the book is a delight on its own.

loved it submitted by jwpark on June 16, 2022, 8:50pm i stayed up until 2 AM, every night for 3 days, to finish this book. it was definitely worth it.

Great Escape submitted by snalex on June 13, 2023, 1:09pm Kwan does a wonderful job transporting the reader to a different, but familiar world. There are countless characters, but I've never gotten lost in the sea of crazy rich asians. Fun read!

Fun submitted by renarde7 on June 26, 2023, 1:21pm If you liked the movie, definitely read the series!

better than the movie! submitted by MHZ on August 20, 2023, 9:55am As is often the case, this book was better than the movie. I happened to see the movie first and then read this book while backpacking and can echo others who said it's great entertaining escapist fun :)
