"A serial act of criminal literature to benefit 826NYC."
When over eighty prominent children's authors learn they are suspects in the murder of despicable book editor Herman Mildew, they provide less-than-credible alibis.

Clever concept but way too long submitted by yugure on June 12, 2013, 8:33am A clever concept: 80+ writers and illustrators are given the chance to "prove" themselves innocent of the murder of the awful editor Herman Mildew. Many of the entries are quite funny (I particularly enjoyed the alibi's of Mac Barnett, Lemony Snicket, and a couple others), but after about fifty or so I was getting tired of the gimmick. There are only so many times I can read "Who, me? I didn't do it!" in various rewordings before I'm bored. This would have been much better, I think, with about half as many writers/illustrators. Also, it seems like 80% of the writers spent most of their time elaborating on Mildew's quirks (like a fondness for stinky cheese) and each one seemed to try to outdo all the other writers, and I got pretty sick of reading about cheese, too. I suggest just reading the entries from the authors you like, and then sampling a few others that start out interesting.
