Slow and Not so Riveting submitted by Beth Manuel on June 19, 2013, 1:19pm I thought this film dragged on very slowly. BIll Murray depicted FDR accurately from what I know of FDR. I love Laura Linney but this role did not display her true talents. It's a fairly short film (95 minutes) and if you are interested in Presidential History you may enjoy this. There just wasn't a lot of meat to it.

meh movie submitted by manz on July 7, 2013, 12:58pm I agree with BAM. The movie was slow paced, not enought plot. I guess it was a summery snoozy laid back kind of film. The acting was great. I love Bill Murray in anything. The scenes between the President and the King were endearing. But I was bored.

Slightly disappointing submitted by crazypockets on July 11, 2013, 7:09pm I agree with the other two. I had high hopes for this one because I think this is a really interesting time in American History, and I was interested to learn more about FDR as a person and how the iron alliance between the US and Britain came to be. From that perspective, it was an interesting movie. I liked the scenes between the king and the president, too, because they really showed how the king especially was just a man who was put into a position he wasn't prepared for and how nervous he was about that. But as far as the romance between FDR and Laura Linney's character, it honestly made me sick to my stomach. Bill Murray was good as FDR though...I guess he was able to portray the very likeable and the very unlikeable aspects of the man's character, so that's saying something for the film.

Okay submitted by RebeccaWittekindt on August 10, 2023, 9:32am With these leads I was hoping for something great. This was good, but not something I probably need to see again.
