It opens by describing the dragons of Pyrrhia in a way much like Pokemon are described with their powers. The prologue was rather violent. But, the writing was good and even funny at times.

I already had the graphic novels for 2 and 3, but I never got the first book. It was awesome. It had life threatening choices and visions of no other. Who created this series was brilliant.

A peace movement, the Talons of Peace decide to collect the distinctive eggs that are prophesied to carry the dragonets. In eight years, the world will be expecting five dragons destined to end the war and restore peace to Pyrhiia. But the Talons are a bit off. MudWing Clay is an awful fighter and a good eater, Nightwing Starflight is a brainy and annoying, with no special powers like the other NightWings, SeaWing Tsunami is rebellious and attacks her guardians, SandWing Sunny is stunted, and missing the poisonous barb that is a dangerous weapon, and RainWing Glory isn't even supposed to exist. Will Pyriia be destroyed because of a few dragonets?
