COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Fascinating submitted by crazypockets on June 19, 2013, 5:04pm I'd really like to know how factual this account was because I thought it was completely riveting. Supposedly it was written based on information from McCain campaign insiders, so my first inclination would be to think that they were trying to throw Sarah Palin under the bus. But the movie didn't really show them in such a favorable light either. They came off as immature, impulsive, and out of touch with reality. So all around, no one really came off looking so great except maybe McCain himself, and even he seemed to not know what was going on a lot of the time and put too much trust in the people around him without taking an active hand in his own fate.

Overall, I thought this was a fascinating character study of someone who was just so completely out of her element. You almost (ALMOST) couldn't help feeling sorry for Palin in this because it was clear she just had no clue. But for me, it raised the even more interesting question of whether ignorance is really excusable and/or something to give sympathy to. I'm not really sure. All in all, it was a great behind-the-scenes look at what goes into a presidential campaign and the creation of a political star.
