Lora Leigh, the Breed Next Door: Meh. Pointless back story, ridiculous coincidence, distractingly crass language (Note to author: dirty talk can be sexy, if done well. If done badly, it's just very, very awkward for your reader.) Two stars.

Meljean Brook, Falling for Anthony: Brook is the reason I read this collection, I love her work. This story was good, well-developed characters, interesting paranormal angle, some familiar characters from her other stories. But it just didn't gel for me, didn't grab me. Not sure why. I like her steampunk stuff a lot better than her guardian series. Four stars.

Shiloh Walker, The Blood Kiss: Total bust. Ham-handed attempt at a Romeo & Juliet adaptation. Didn't care about the characters, didn't buy the story. One star.
