No daft lassie chases after Hamish in this one, but Dick behaves rather awful with respect to Hamish and Elspeth. The body count was way too high. Heather's final outcome was unrealistic, as was how she got away from the hospital. I feel like the author is saying "just how far can I push this?" The Palfer kids showed up way earlier than I expected they would - another sign of phoning it in, in my opinion.
