The US did Horrible Things submitted by jmb.mlis on August 25, 2015, 8:03pm All of those poor Japanese-American adults and children gathered up and forced to live in terrible camps. The US didn't work them to death or kill them outright but thus is truly a dark section of our country's history.

More history not taught in schools submitted by Xris on June 27, 2021, 6:28pm This is why we need to have Critical Race Theory in mind when we pick books for our students to read. This is the first I've learned about the Mendez v. Westminster case and the family who brought it to court. I also like that they compare the Japanese American family to the Mexican American family...talking about the fences, one at the school yard next to a farm, and the other, in the internment camp. I'm going to be watching more things about Sylvia and Aki, I hope!
