ok submitted by watermelon on June 14, 2013, 6:31pm the plot was alright, but the ending left a lot unanswered. sequel is to come out fall 2013 though, so maybe more about the secret societies and sophie's past will be explained.

My daughter loved it submitted by juanc01 on July 12, 2014, 8:54pm She is 10 and immediately asked me if there was a sequel.

Great submitted by oliviakli on June 17, 2015, 5:01pm The book is great, the plot was great.
It was a great book

never put it down! submitted by catherinevanlent on July 22, 2015, 12:45pm I started reading at 12:00.(lunch) And could not put it down until I had finished it. (I finished it at 11:00 at night!)

Good submitted by catlover123 on May 17, 2016, 7:42pm If your looking for a good clean book, this is for you. It's a hero journey, but not too cliche. I love how shannon messenger explains the magic instead of just saying, "I can teleport; deal with it."

Keeper of the Lost Cities submitted by geoff maturen on June 23, 2016, 2:19pm This book rocks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

THIS IS THE BEST! submitted by bookworms on June 17, 2018, 9:18pm At first, I wasn't too keen to read this book, but after I started..

I COULDN'T STOP!!!!!!!!

This book has it all! Adventure, mystery, and the teeniest bit of romance! During the book, Sophie is brought to the Lost Cities by Fitz Vacker, who helps her discover her elven heritage and her powers of Telepathy. From there on out, Sophie learns that the this seemingly magical world isn't all what it seems. She must decide between her old life, and her Elven life.

Awesome!! submitted by sariw on June 18, 2018, 9:12am I checked this out because I was desperate to read a book... I just wanted to see how it went.

Well, when I started, I COULDN’T PUT THE BOOK DOWN!

This is an awesome book. I really recommend it to all people.

amazing!!!!!!! submitted by eliadler on August 14, 2018, 8:56am I loved this book!
I got it for my birthday and i couldn't but it down!!!
I finished it in just a week!

Amazing! submitted by accountsfpd on June 15, 2019, 3:37pm Keeper of the Lost Cities is so good! The plot is intricate, yet fairly simple to understand and the writing is amazing. The characters are realistic and relatable, and they are all very funny, constantly making witty remarks. The tone is light, yet a lot happens, which made this a really fun read! I would definitely recommend this to anyone, regardless of age because there is something in this book for everyone!

Great Book submitted by milka on June 16, 2019, 8:56am Keepers of the lost cities is such a great book! With hilarious moments to insane plot twists, this book has it all.

Overhyped submitted by shailu on June 18, 2019, 4:31pm I can't believe how selfish and shallow the protagonist is, and some of her disgustingly snobbish lines left me frustrated. The book in itself is not as good as the fandom suggests it to be, and I could hardly get through this monstrosity much less the other books.

you must read this! submitted by heihorse on June 29, 2019, 9:34am it is AMAZING!

Might have been the best book I've ever read. submitted by Jessica Primus on July 1, 2019, 8:23am I think that this book may have been one of my favorites that I have ever read, and that is coming from a Harry Potter lover. It is filled with everything a good story needs; Romance, action, argument, resolvent, mystery, comedy, and a set of amazing characters. Long story short, I. WAS. ADDICTED!
The premise of this book, which is the first in a long series, centers on a girl named Sophie. She figures out she is a telepath and an elf when a boy comes to show her why she always felt out of place. Sophie turns out to be a super-elf with a lot of talents and the center of a big project. Most elves in the Lost Cities, the name of the elven world, have talents or special abilities such as being a Guster, Vanisher, Technopath, Telepath, Empath, or Shade. I won't tell you any more about that though until you read this great book.
The characters of this book include: Sophie (protagonist) whom I have already told you about, Fitz, who is another elf who Sophie has a huge crush on, Keefe, a hilarious member of a team who has a complex love life and complex family, Biana, Fitz's sister, who becomes Sophie's good friend, and Dex, who is her best friend.
Does Sophie learn to feel at home in the Elvin world? Do she and her friends figure out ways to beat the enemy? How much longer will they stay alive? Sophie and her friends face many challenges together, but remain strong in Shannon Messenger's fantastic story about a team that always sticks together.

Best Series Ever submitted by MCK313 on July 15, 2019, 10:55pm Review from a 11 year old boy who read all 7 books in 6 weeks. Highly recommend.

Awsome Book submitted by Lisa Groh on July 27, 2019, 1:12pm There is so much detail in these books. I could NOT put this book down! I recommend for anyone who wants to get hooked on a really good story. Really hope they make a movie. Age range: 10 and up. I give this book 5 out of 5 stars!

AWESOME!! submitted by skalantr on August 1, 2019, 9:10am this book is really good with a bunch of twists, action, and excitement! i reccomend it for fifth or sixth graders because it is a little violent.

Love this!!!! submitted by Theaco on August 27, 2019, 11:38am I absolutely love this book! I’ve read the whole series and now I’m rereading it before the 8th book (❤️) comes out!!!!!!!

Best Book, Must Read! submitted by Jelliekim on March 24, 2020, 4:38pm This fabulous book all begins from a girl named Sophie Foster. One day she goes on a school trip to the museum, and she meets a boy named Fitz. She learns that there is another world, and she follows him. Once she goes to this "other world" she finds out that you can do a lot of stuff you can't do in her world. You can speak to other people with your mind, you can teleport, you can put fires, and way more stuff! Then she makes a though decision. She wants to live here, where magic is true, but then that means that she must leave her parents behind. So she asks someone to make her parents think that she is dead. After some time, she finds out that there is a group called the Neverseen, and the Neverseen do very evil stuff. Then Sophie recruits her own team to fight the Neverseen, but the neverseen are clever and a lot of the times they win. One day one of her friend goes to the Neverseen, she is very sad and tries to recruit her friend back, but the Neverseen won't give up, they always have backup. She goes all around the place, to learn, recruit and practice. If she wants to defeat the Neverseen she must unlock her full potential. This book is a fabulous book, and it is a must-read book. Once you read this book, you will never forget this book. If I had to rate this book out of 5 stars, I would put 100 stars if I could. Once you read this book, you will never stop, until you finish the whole series. I highly encourage you to read this book, and if you read this book and if you like it, there are 7 other books in the series. Once again I highly encourage you to read this book. This book is one of the best books I have ever read. Very few books can match this book. Once again I highly encourage you to read this book! One of the best book ever!

Great submitted by oliviak1014 on June 13, 2020, 11:23am This book is amazing. It is kind of a rip off of the Harry Potter series.

Keeper lost cities- submitted by sara on June 17, 2020, 6:24pm My 7-year-old nephew was reading this book and recommended it to me. If you like Harry Potter, you will like this series. The protagonist is a 12-year-old girl who learns she is not actually human.

My favorite series submitted by acgottfr on June 21, 2020, 3:24pm This is one of my favorite book series of all time. It is really good

Keeper of the lost cities submitted by jnfenske on July 12, 2020, 7:47pm Great book, a must read!

Just That Good submitted by tanyalenko on July 26, 2020, 4:20pm This book will become a classic one day. It is just that good. The plot and details are intricate, the magical world captivating, and the characters relatable. While this isn't my favorite book in the series (All of which I've reread too many times to count), it is the perfect start to the series, and I was hooked from the first chapter. Unlike most books, it starts with an intriguing event, not a boring or action packed one. That made the book stand out in my mind. Anyway, it is a must read! Get friends in on it and you will talk about these books all day long!

Keeper of the lost cities submitted by vjchen007 on July 30, 2020, 1:11pm I loved this book a lot.

Really good! submitted by LegendaryBookworm on July 28, 2021, 1:36pm This is one of my favorite fantasy series, and it's pretty much the next best thing if you liked Harry Potter. Be warned, though, the books are rather long.

A.M.A.Z.I.N.G!!! submitted by graytabby on August 1, 2021, 10:18pm MY FAVE YOUNG READERS' FANTASY SERIES!!! It's un-put-down-able. READ IT!

Keeper of the Lost Cities submitted by emiliana on August 29, 2021, 4:43pm I love this book because each chapter ends in suspense. I like the characters of the elves.

Super submitted by The Book Broken Girl on March 8, 2022, 8:49pm I read 1-6 in one month when I got them for Christmas and 7-8.5 in just three weeks about a month after that. I love Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, and I think this series has aspects of both along with a bit of its own magic. I can't wait to see what Shannon Messenger writes for the 9th book, Stellarlune. Also, if you have not read the author's Let The Sky Fall series, go check it out. It's amazing. But it will never be as good as KOTLC. I'm really excited because they are making a movie series. And, you may have heard of Emma Watson? It's rumored she might play Lady Gisela in later movies. Can't wait to see how this pans out. Also, ship who you like, but I am Sophitz and Diana all the way.

Keeper of the lost cities 1 submitted by Joan2011 on June 10, 2022, 3:16pm This is an exciting book series that never gets old.

Really good submitted by MattZawistowski on June 14, 2022, 11:06am I love these kind of fiction/fantasy books where the main characters are my age. I really like the idea of the elves and the lost cities. There is tons of action and it is never boring. It’s sort of similar to Harry Potter if you like that. Also fair warning all the books are pretty long, but totally worth it.

Oh my gosh, great book! submitted by JustTT on June 21, 2022, 11:06am Wonderful book! Amazing plot; similar to Harry Potter/Percy Jackson’s plot. Basically Sophie is a smart normal person but then finds out that she’s an elf with powers and has to fight off enemies.

READ IIIIIIIIIITTTTT! submitted by yigaadli on June 23, 2022, 1:06pm I had gotten this book last Christmas. At first glance, I was like, aaaalllllriiiight? I read the blurb, and I was like, ooooookaaaaayy? I thought to myself, "should I read this book? I might not like it,". I ENDED UP READING IT. AND I LOVED IT. The moment I finished the book (which was the same day I got it, I loved it so much), I was so desperate to read the second book, I COULD NOT WAIT. So, I went on Sora... and YES! They had the rest of the series. I immediately borrowed the second book. Read it, loved it, you know how it goes. And just like that, I'm almost done with the whole series. Luckily, there seems to be a new book coming out soon! So on that note, I should just tell you what I wanted to say. READ. IT. This book WILL NOT FAIL YOUR INTERESTS. I do have to warn you though, it starts to get very, VERY chaotic to read towards the middle of the series, because there are SO many names, SO much stuff going on, SO many personalities, and you have to keep that all in your head while you read. At some point during my journey reading this series, I was so overwhelmed, I was like, "wait. So what exactly is Sophie Foster trying to accomplish again?". So anyway, yeah. Read it, thank you for listening.

ABSOLUTE BEST BOOK submitted by cheon.eunjae on June 26, 2022, 9:32am This has EVERYTHING in it. From romance, fantasy, and magic, to real-life obstacles like adoption and fitting in. If you like Harry Potter, Percy Jackson (honestly, any Rick Riordan book), etc. this is the book for you. It is also jam-packed with love triangles and magic.

Literally the best book ever submitted by MayaLucy on July 31, 2022, 10:14am I read this book so quickly! So so so good! I never put it down!!!

Quite good submitted by micahk on August 1, 2022, 9:25am I'd suggest this book to anyone who likes fantasy. This might be the best in series.

I love this series!!!!!!! submitted by mayaisAWESOME on August 27, 2022, 10:03am this series is awesome!!!!!!!

Don't start this series submitted by czudak on October 23, 2022, 10:16pm My 9 year old daughter read this first book in the series and thought it was okay, but didn't even finish the second book because the writing is so repetitive and nothing actually happens. But, with COVID, she went back to it. She wanted me to read it with her, and it is painfully bad. The premise is interesting and there are some interesting characters, but the author writes pages and pages of repetitive dialogue. Every time she gets stuck on the plot, she writes new characters and they drop in and out of prominence, making it hard to care about anyone. Sophie is insipid and her agonizing over the same issues over and over and over three books is mind numbingly boring. If I seem harsh it is because I am so disappointed. The author had a really intriguing premise and she totally fails to deliver. Read anything by Jonathon Stroud or Wings of Fire, but don't start this series. It fails to deliver.

Great submitted by ethanmmill on March 10, 2023, 6:41am Great read

Great YA Fantasy submitted by emtuft on August 14, 2023, 9:57pm If you are looking to read a young adult fantasy, I recommend this one! It has been a while since I’ve read this genre and I enjoyed it. The story was interesting and captivating and the characters are likable. I’m a Harry Potter fan and couldn’t help but see parallels between the storylines and characters.
