COMMUNITY REVIEWS

Not sure about it submitted by ValerieL on June 20, 2013, 6:11pm Even now, a month or so after I've finished reading this book, I'm still not entirely sure how I feel about it. It was definitely a compelling read, but I can't really say that I *liked* it. And yet, I would try putting it down for a day or so and would feel compelled to go back and read more. So, it definitely kept my attention and kept me entertained, but I really can't say that I *liked* it. It was interesting. It was fascinating. But it was also dark and foreboding in places. Give it a try and let me know how you feel about it. I'd love to read other reviews and hear other people's opinions of it.

Compelling, Violent, and Fun submitted by sdunav on July 1, 2013, 5:06pm This was basically a romp through Prague, with stopovers in different periods, including Beethoven's lifetime, the Nazi regime, the Cold War, and after the Velvet Revolution. Some reviewers hated the "promiscuous" (and unashamed) heroine, gay characters, or the besmirching of Beethoven or an American senator, I guess. I would have given this five stars, but the ending was a little cliched (so many loose ends conveniently wrapped up!), and the hero was kind of cardboard. I can tell a sequel is in the offing, so maybe the authors (who decided on Magnus Flyte as their pen name ) will develop him a bit more.

Recommended for those who enjoy fantasy, sex, exotic locations, and history
