COMMUNITY REVIEWS

yawn submitted by clayton on October 22, 2012, 9:35am Really very disappointing, not funny, not scarey and not interesting either.

Swing and a miss submitted by pkooger on March 18, 2013, 3:27pm Dark Shadows has all of the customary Tim Burton style, but it's lacking something. The story is interesting enough, and the characters all take turns chewing up the scenery, but it still isn't very good. There are a lot of "jokes" that fall flat. The scenes that are meant to convey emotion come across as soap opera cliches. The final battle of the film is actually really cool, but I must admit I was sort of checked out at that point. If you've got an empty afternoon to spare, check it out, but this is one movie you can afford to miss.

great movie submitted by Jackie77 on August 10, 2015, 9:04pm It was a good movie. Comedy and drama all wrapped into one. Excellent acting by the whole cast. Loved johnny the most

mixed submitted by ssands on July 6, 2016, 7:35pm I felt like this movie wasn't sure what it was doing. Is it a zany story about the funny misconceptions of someone who is dropped into the wrong time? Is it a bloody vampire horror movie?

Meh submitted by majean on August 9, 2018, 6:24pm Kooky and not at all like the original series. A little disappointing.

Good movie! submitted by Xris on August 29, 2018, 10:38pm Good but not great! The cast makes it good and at sometimes, funny! Gotta love Johnny Depp!!

Much better than my initial low expectations for this kind of silly movies, but ended rather silly. submitted by Tassos on April 25, 2019, 8:25am I am not a big fan of the weirdo-whacko act of either Depp or Keanu Reeves, nor am I a fan of this nonsense genre of 'fantasy', 'vampire', "harry potter" etc crappy movies.

So I had rather low expectations when i started to see this movie.

I was pleasantly surprised. The movie started out great, very good script, decent acting. But as it approached its end, it became too silly, too sugary, too 'happy end-ish', too much Hollywood crap, to be frank.
