The Dark Knight Rises submitted by DBJC on June 14, 2014, 8:26pm First of all, the movie was great. Now, the music. As usual, Hans Zimmer was a great choice to score Nolan's Batman trilogy because he knows how to make Batman come out of the music. If you've noticed, James Newton Howard did not collaborate with him on this album (which is sad...at least for me) but nothing can go wrong with Hans Zimmer. Like some of his other scores, this one also tells the story of the film. I recommend listening to the entire album to get the full effect of musical storytelling! That and the tracks kind of blend together to avoid having strange gaps in between modes. "Gotham's Reckoning" is a popular favorite with listeners, especially since it's the first track that introduces the chanting that's heard throughout the movie. "Mind if I cut in?" is the track that also introduced Catwoman (which is why it sounds different than the other tracks). "Why do we fall?" is one of my favorite tracks as it pulls the listener from the ground and makes them "get back up." The only thing about this album, is that it doesn't have all the possible music that you can get. If you want to listen to more music and here more tracks (which includes a Junkie XL Remix and a mellow track called "The End") then I would check out the Deluxe edition. More music, more fun! 4.5/5 stars!
