COMMUNITY REVIEWS
Real Big Ska Tunes submitted by Meginator on August 10, 2018, 2:36pm This album offers more of the third-wave ska that Reel Big Fish have perfected, though with less verve than on previous releases. The band tries to make up for this by doubling down on lyrical immaturity, but the result often feels cloying and un-genuine, snarky for its own sake rather than making a point (however playful). That said, this album may be more of the same from the band but they are genre stalwarts for a reason; even without energy or surprises this album should play well with fans. "Don't Stop Skanking" is an exception, a surprising callback to the two-tone ska revival of the 1980s that works really well.
