Based on a true story, with wild casting decisions submitted by willow on August 16, 2015, 6:32am This is a movie based on the real story of an English maid who feels called to missionary work in China, specifically discouraging food binding. Cockney Gladys Aylward is played by Swedish Ingrid Bergman. She falls in love with biracial Capt. Lin Nan, played by Curt Jurgens, whose real name was Curd Jürgens, "The Norman Hulk," whose own ancestry was Franco-German. Robert Donnat also played a Chinese character.

Interesting drama submitted by mandevil on October 4, 2020, 11:31am Epic story of one woman whose commitment to her Christian principles takes her to China. Really enjoyed it!
