The shadows of war are drawing over the ancient city of Fez, and Holmes badly wants the wisdom and courage of his wife, whom he's learned, to his horror, has gone missing. As Holmes searches for her, and Russell, suffering a temporary memory loss, searches for her"self," each tries to crack deadly parallel puzzles before it's too late for them, for Africa, and for the peace of Europe.

Russell & Holmes in Morocco submitted by sdunav on June 18, 2013, 5:37pm This is the 12th Russell/Holmes historical mystery - this one is set in Morocco in 1926, amidst French/Spanish/English intrigue with native peoples. It's much more interesting than King's last one, but I'm not sure it would hold your interest if you're not into this series.

Sherlock Holmes submitted by ssands on June 26, 2015, 3:44pm This book follows right on the heels of "Pirate King" with the characters where they were left at the end of that book. They could have been combined to make a longer book, except this one has the more serious tone of the rest of the series. ("Pirate King" was the hilarious anomaly.) Like other Russell and Holmes mysteries, this book is an unintentionally educational look at an exotic historical setting, spiced up with a mystery.

Morocco! submitted by camelsamba on August 28, 2020, 4:35pm (Perhaps one reason I enjoyed this is because it's set in Morocco, and I really want to go there someday.)
