The protagonist of this British drama series is Detective Chief Jack Mowbray. When his district is invaded by an elusive serial killer, Mowbray is browbeaten by his boss, DCS Henderson, to catch the murderer yesterday, if not sooner. As the unknown villain continues to cut a bloody swath through the moors, the overworked Mowbray's personal life suffers mightily.
