Unfortunately, My Kid Loves It submitted by Sara W on June 12, 2015, 7:53pm We thought, "Underdog. It's simple, it's goofy, it's an old children's show, how bad could it be?" Well. it's pretty bad. Underdog only speaks in rhyming couplets, ever. Not just for his catchphrase, but all the time.

The writers seemed to be competing to see which episode could use the fewest lines, so there's lots of repetition.

Lots. And the pacing is... well, it's something else. It's like those serial drama comic strips in the newspaper - where the action moves so incrementally that one week the entire strip is about the phone ringing. That's the same pacing. Each storyline is broken into like 4 episodes and they reuse 75% of the lines and each time Sweet Polly worries that she will drown in cake batter or that Underdog will be sick on his birthday. Get a grip, Sweet Polly.

It's hilarious. Not the show, I mean, it's hilarious how much my kid likes it.
