Great Choice submitted by jmb.mlis on August 24, 2013, 1:16am Excellent science fiction for high schoolers and adults alike. Daisy was in a bus crash when she was 4 years old and died...but then the government brought her back. Revive is a drug that can resuscitate children who were in good health before dying suddenly, but is only supposed to be used in a very controlled study on 21 kids. Some of the kids have died more than once, and Daisy has been brought back a number of times. But what is REALLY going on behind the scenes with the higher-ups of the study?
Enjoyable Read

Even though this is not a book that I would reread, I really enjoyed the character relationships that formed between all three of the main characters. I appreciated the lack of insta-love, and the realism in all the relationships that were formed. It took some very adult themes such as death, and handled them in a way that was not only mature, but also not dumb-ed down for teenage readers.
One of the few faults I found in this book was in the mystery element. I felt that this was a character driven novel that could have done just as well as a contemporary work, instead of trying to add in sci-fi elements that did not really provide much to the parts of the story that I was interested in besides the necessary background to Daisy. Honestly, I couldn't have cared less about the whole 'Revive' project and government conspiracy as opposed to how her participation in the 'Revive' project affected her relationships with Matt and his sister.
