Good addition to the series submitted by pkooger on November 30, 2012, 4:41pm The second book in Harkness' trilogy picks up moments after the ending of the first book, however I felt that Shadow of Night took quite a while to really get moving. That said, once it gets going, I couldn't put it down. Can't wait for the last in the series!
good book submitted by michael007 on July 5, 2013, 5:25pm I love the book "Shadow of night".
A Fine Sequel submitted by ajstemp on June 27, 2018, 2:58pm Like the first book, the premise isn't perfect, but this continued to be an entertaining read.
A good read continued submitted by caburr47 on July 17, 2021, 9:29pm I definitely recommend reading the continuation of this story. Unlike many fantasy or sci-fi stories this might be the first one to use a time-travel element on top of the "monster" narrative. It was a fun composite of actual historical characters - and of course our heroine is excited as us to engage with them. It ties up some loose ends but certainly leaves you asking more questions and wanting to read further.
Solid continuation of the story submitted by schweiml on June 28, 2023, 7:19pm It’s not some incredible work of literary fiction but it’s an entertaining read. I would say I actually enjoyed this more than the first part of the series, which isn’t something you can always say about a trilogy. This book picks up right where the last one left off and continues to build the plot. I really enjoyed some of the new characters introduced in this part.
Very boring submitted by ewraback on July 20, 2023, 7:24pm I liked it enough to finish it. But nothing really happens and nothing that actually progresses the plot line. There also seems to be a lot of plot holes left over from them going back in time that are never addressed. It is also a very slow read.
