I judge books by the cover submitted by Mom Kay on June 15, 2012, 10:51am I could tell by the cover illustration and title that this book would perfect for my preschooler. All of the pictures are colorful and engaging (lots of little details to look at) and the simple text keeps young listeners interested. I would recommend this for spring themed units at daycares/preschools/playgroups.

Splashing submitted by rimpopu on July 9, 2013, 7:31am This is a delightful book for little readers. It is about a little girl having fun in the rain, and just that. Lots of repetitive words and those related to rain like drip drop, pit pat, splish splash, and so on. The illustration is delightfully colorful. You can tell the girl and her dog are having a marvelous time splashing, hopping, jumping in the rain, and later in the puddles after the rain. It was fun reading it to my children until towards the end when the girl and the dog walk into the house with mud soaked feet & paws, and the girl even carries a cake of mud in her hands as if there wasn't quite enough in the extremities. Uh-oh! Much to my relief my oldest immediately went, 'That's not nice. You should never walk into the house with your muddy feet'. I must have done something right in teaching my children their manners. Spoiler Alert: The muddy revelers in the book washes them all off :)

Yay! Rain! submitted by jackson.sarah.jean on March 14, 2016, 9:20am This book just makes you want to go out and play in the rain. The illustrations are fun and inviting. The activities the kids do are nostalgic of my own childhood. When the rain stopped I was transported to a day/feeling that I get when the rain has cleared and the sun is coming out. I really enjoyed reading this book.
