Winning illustrations, choppy text submitted by klickitat on July 12, 2012, 8:23am Cute, with winning illustrations (the image of Bot with a drawing attached to him like he's a fridge slayed me), but I found the text to be a bit Dick & Jane choppy. Disappointing because I was really looking forward to this one (partially because of my love for Ann Arbor's own Robot Store). Still worth a read though. Kids should love it.
great book! submitted by fairytale on July 23, 2013, 8:32pm This is a *great* book about a robot and a boy who are friends. The illustrations and text are very clever! Worth checking out.
Very sweet submitted by atpierce on August 4, 2018, 8:35am Great pictures. Kids enjoyed repeated readings. Then again, kids enjoy repeated readings of many books.
Wonderful Book About Friendship submitted by Meginator on August 28, 2019, 10:20pm I loved this! With bold, colorful illustrations, a healthy dose of ironic humor, and a straightforward story about friendship, this book hits all of the marks. It actually had me laughing out loud, and it was an instant hit with the six-year-old I read it with. This is a great choice for both pre-literate and newly independent readers, as the illustrations carry much of the weight of the story and offer some interesting conversational points without straying from a simple style. I’d definitely consider adding this to our home library.
